Broadband for European Regions, from availability to penetration: the satellite contribution

SABER (Satellite Broadband for European Regions) final conference aims to disseminate to all the European Regions the successful results achieved throughout the project.
Indeed, the main goal of SABER thematic network is to create the conditions for the most efficient and effective contribution of satellite systems to support the achievement of the objectives set in Europe 2020 and subsequently in the Digital Agenda for Europe (DAE) by involving European Regions.
The conference will be an international event under the patronage of the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
In the Morning session two panel discussions will cover "Satellite broadband in regional strategies within the EU framework: where do we stand?" and "Satellite Solutions of the Future at the Service of Regions, Industries and Citizens: Looking Ahead with a New EU Digital Agenda" and will be held by representatives of Regions, EU Parliament, EU Commission, ESA, Satellite Operators and Satellite constructors
The afternoon will be dedicated to presenting the work done by SABER network during these two years and will allow full interaction with the audience.

Solutions Architect in Timisoara

Job description

As a Solutions Architect you will mainly be responsible for managing a software development and implementation team and you will be part of complex international projects. The Ideal candidate will have experience in software development and project management, strong organizational skills and a very open mind for innovative and out of the box solutions.

If we choose you, you will have to:

  • Develop and manage a software development team capable of design best in class technical solutions, able to work in large consortium with big industry players on large scale projects
  • Be able to document and explain the technical architecture with clients and business partner for defined integration points
  • Be able to evaluate, define and execute the working packages negotiated and agreed with consortium coordinator and partners, respect the timeline project deliverables,
  • Available for traveling abroad to attend technical meetings


To apply for this position, you should have:

  • Excellent coordination and mentoring skills
  • A Bachelor's Degree in IT and a Project Manager certification
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking execution, time management
  • Good understanding of solution architecture based on a variety of Technology including Oracle, Microsoft, IBM etc.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills

Job description

As a Project Manager you will be mainly responsible for identifying and generating new business opportunities and managing all existing projects. The ideal candidate for us will be a highly motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced, quota-driven environment.

If we choose you, you will have to:

  • Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with potential and existing customers in the assigned territory/market segment in order to generate new business for ETA2U’s solutions/products/services
  • Analyze and understand the market key issues, trends, technology developments and their impact on our clients and leverage resources where appropriate in key / qualified sales pursuits to improve the probability for winning business.
  • Be actively involved in finding new and innovative ideas to be transformed into products that enlarge ETA2U’s portfolio
  • Understand our competitors, their products and solutions in order to improve our position on the market
  • Create and manage a customer value plan for existing customers highlighting profile, share and value opportunities

To apply for this position, you should have:

  • At least 6 years of experience in Customer relationship management and/ or have worked in IT related projects as a project manager for more than 2 years
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills

We are constantly involved in European Commission’s actions by participating on several events:

  • Digital Agenda Assembly (yearly since 2011)
  • European Commission – DG Information Society & Media, ICT Call for Action: “A Coalition for Action (CfA) on ICT was formed in Brussels earlier in 2012 year and is designed to bring together Regional ICT leaders, ICT Innovation Centers and ICT Entrepreneurs across Europe to collaborate to develop the next generation of ICT solutions, within Europe, and for the benefit of Europeans. This Coalition is still in its early days of formulation and through this meeting we want to establish the next steps. With a specific focus on the emerging funding programs of Smart Specialization Strategies and Horizon 2020, the ICT Coalition for Action is now evolving to bring together key stakeholders that will collaborate to pursue projects and investments that will enable the realization of Regional Innovation and Economic Growth Strategies through the development and application of ICT's.”
  • CeBIT – yearly participation since 2006
  • XiPi – in 2013 Eta2U register part of his research infrastructure to XiPi, an on-line catalogue of Future Internet infrastructures. Future Internet - Public Private Partnership “follows an industry-driven, user-oriented approach that combines R&D on network and communication technologies, devices, software, service and media technologies; and their experimentation and validation in real application contexts. It brings together the demand and supply sides, and it involves users early into the research lifecycle. The platform technologies will be used and validated by many actors, in particular by small- and medium-sized companies and public administrations”.
